I am...under construction

ufff…this is the hardest thing for me to write, but lets go step by step…backwards.

I am… a conceptual artist

During the 90’s along with punk movement, hard core music, wars in ex-Yugoslavia, I’ve found my self in contemporary art. First with friends I’ve made a group named Pogon, and under influence of Bauhaus (cont. german art school from begining of 20 century) and sub-culture, we name our working space Subhaus (a house of sub-culture). We were involved in anti-war activities, protest against totalitar government, against fascism, and so on, through performance and art forms. It was pretty childish period, but very important for me.
After that I’ll continue my work independently by alias Pogonik. In that period I’ve realised many exhibits and performances, and took place in organizing both formal and unformal events of this sort, along with workshops and lectures. Some of works that stood out were the exhibit “Calvary”, realised with the support of the Open club, performance “Proleterian”, performed at the Modern Art Gallery in Sombor, video works “Song of the Stars” and “Sleepwalking” with the piano background played by Branka Parlic.
Art group Vacuumpack I’ve activated with friend and mentor Dragan Rakic in 2006. We realised a number of presentations in Subotica, Sombor, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Kraljevo, Graz, Tokio… This was my “zenith” as artist…tougth I think it was. I love evry single project we made and I’m very proud about them. Unforchunately, everything comes to a end when Dragan died from a cancer on january 2009.

I am… a (web) designer

During 2006. I’ve revitalized Pogon, this time as youth organization. Beside some 30-40 music concerts, about 20 art exibitions, workshops, lectures, we started a youth magazine named Pogonik. I was a editor and a designer because of expirience I’ve had. “Magazine for!” we’ve call it.
Where did I get all the energy…? I don’t know. Probably because of all the young people around. Beside editing and designing Pogonik, I was working in advertising agency (full time job) volountiring in Cultural Center on organization and funriseing (on afternoon), working with Vacuumpack art group (on night and weekends), and “as a strawberry on top of the cake”, my daughter was born and I’ve become a father :-)
